This is what happens to your vehicle if you had an improper windshield installation.

Tragic Loss: Father and Daughter Killed by Improper Windshield Replacement

Windshield repair is better than an improper replacement. Repair whenever possible and replace only when necessary.

We believe more accidental deaths happen due to auto glass failures than are reported. For example, in salvage yards you’ll find many crash vehicles with windshield blowouts. One tragic case: On December 27, 2011, Jason Patnaude lost control of his Toyota pickup on ice; it rolled, the windshield blew out, and the roof collapsed, killing Jason and his daughter Victoria despite both wearing seat belts. His wife Iwona filed a negligence suit against both a leading auto manufacturer and a national glass company.

Air bags rely on your windshield being installed properly.

Windshields Are Critical to Roof Strength and Airbag Safety

Improper Installs and Cracks Can Lead to Roof Collapse and Airbag Failure

Your windshield provides up to 70% of your roof’s structural integrity. In a rollover, an edge crack or improperly installed replacement can cause roof collapse.

Many passenger-side airbags use the windshield as a backstop. A cracked or improperly bonded windshield can blow out, leaving passengers unprotected.
